Taplin Defense Firm, P.C. is lead by attorney K. Todd Taplin, who is a former prosecutor with more than 25 years of litigation experience. He previously served Madison County, Illinois, as an assistant state's attorney from 1988 to 1994.

Todd Taplin entered private practice in 1994, where he devoted most of his expertise to criminal defense with Traffic Law Center. Taplin ran three Illinois offices for the firm until creating Taplin Defense Firm in April 2011. Taplin has represented thousands of clients across 60 Illinois counties, St. Louis County and St. Charles, County, Mo. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Missouri and the U.S. District Court of Southern Illinois.
