Under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival's Program of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service, young people brought to the United States as children are eligible for deferred action if they meet certain residency and education requirements. Certain criminal offenses such as DUI and DWI will disqualify a person in the program and may subject them to deportation even though they are a documented and legal resident. Any documented (or undocumented) resident from a foreign country should hire counsel to properly address these issues.
