Todd Taplin was the chief DUI prosecutor for Madison County, Ilinois, in his early years of practice. He literally wrote the manual on police procedure for a DUI arrest.
For the last 19 years, he has been on the other side of the bar, defending those accused of DUI and using the skills and knowledge obtained during his prosecutor days to achieve the best results for his clients. Todd Taplin has saved jobs and driver's licenses for hundreds of clients.
Taplin welcomes undocumented clients and employs a Spanish-speaking interpreter to aid in their defense.
Under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival's Program of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service, young people brought to the United States as children are eligible for deferred action if they meet certain residency and education requirements. Certain criminal offenses such as DUI and DWI will disqualify a person in the program and may subject them to deportation even though they are a documented and legal resident. Any documented (or undocumented) resident from a foreign country should hire counsel to properly address these issues.
